Lots of toasty oak, red currant, tart berries. Pair with grilled meats. Yes this is the namesake of The Great One, hockey player. No he doesn't pick the grapes or make the wine ;)

Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Wayne Gretzky's entry level Cabernet-Merlot puts together some juicy fruit and some subtle oak to make a pleasing, bright and lively red.
This wine is young and needs time to compose the fruit and oak. 2016, in general, is taking longer to hit its stride than the soft amd inviting 2015s (people gemerally value 2016 more).
Bright, vibrant colour. Decent depth.
Aromas of tobacco, cherry candy, red currant, mace and nut shell.
It has some pretty zippy acidity. Red and black berries. Some moderate but balanced tannins.
Snappy wine that would do well with some ground pork, or maybe some vegetable heavy stews.
