Reviews and Ratings

Paula Bernardino rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This was my weekend wine pick: a nice Cab Merlot from Niagara. Nice blend of 38% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc. Nice dark ruby red colour with aromas and flavours of dark berries. Soft tannins and a dry finish on the palate. I paired it with a platter of charcuterie and cheeses. SAQ code: 13220117 at $17.95 and LCBO#: 75689 at $15.95. 12.5% alcohol.
Craig Haynes - WSET3 FWS SWS IWS rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The Wayne Gretzky Estates 2018 Cabernet Merlot a joyful, food versatile red from Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula appellation. I like how this blend’s aromas, flavours and feel generate attention through collaboration rather than conflict. It leaves an impression reminiscent of ripe red and dark berries teamed up with delicate dark chocolate and sweet spice (think cloves). No overpowering oak here. This red feels pleasingly mouthcoating, medium bodied, extra dry with some slight, velvety tannin presence. For those keen on knowing blend bills, this red’s is 38% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc.

I’d serve this creation with BBQ’ed sliders and seasoned steaks.
