Natalie's Score: 90/100

Juicy and fleshy with purple and black plum aromas on this vibrant Australian red wine, with lots of mouth-watering acidity for food. Although the Merlot grape is grown in many regions around the world, the signature here in the glass is definitely Australian. Smooth and full-bodied. Terrific price! Attractive smoke and dark fruit on the finish. Perfect for pizza!

Merlot food pairings: grilled steak, pan-roasted beef filet and rösti potatoes, cheeseburgers, bitter-sweet chocolate, turkey.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Stunning wine for under $20. This wine features crushed black plum and black cherry and tar, with elevated notes of bay leaf, black briar and sage. Lots going on here. 91 Points. (ottawawinejournal.com)
Wineboy rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A straightforward Merlot from Australia offering plum and mint aromas. Nice richness to the fruit, medium level of acidity and a softer level of oak treatment.
This a cool climate Clare Valley Merlot from famed producer, Wakefield. Such good value here. Juicy and fleshy with purple and black plum aromas on this vibrant and smooth Australian red wine, with lots of mouth-watering acidity for food. Drink now or cellar for three years. You like it now but will love it then. - Community Wine Reviews
