From Marlborough, South Island, Villa Maria Cellar Selection Sauvignon Blanc is so fresh with green herbs, bright citrus notes and ripe stonefruit on the palate all wrapped up in an amazing acidity. The 2017 vintage of the delicious, mouth-watering Sauvignon Blanc from Villa Maria is terrific! This is classic Marlborough SB, with aromas of freshly cut grass and herbs. Pair pan-fried white fish.

Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: Thai green curry fish, shellfish, chicken and sage skewers, fresh tomato and basil salad.

Reviews and Ratings

David Skinner rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A blend of selected parcels from the Awatere and Wairau Valleys, the grapes are harvested at night, fermented in stainless with cool temperature yeast strains. Matured on lees the wine exhibits a medium straw colour.
Aromas of grapefruit, lime and lemon and herbs. Mouthwatering acidity with citrus flavours and a mineral finish.
Sharon Lécuyer rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Tasted side-by-side Villa Maria 2017 Sauvignon Blanc

Tropical and stone fruit on the nose with sour notes of lemon and apple on the palette. Balanced acidity that would pair well with chicken and summer salads.

Tasted July 17, 2018
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Flinty and soft with delicate tropical fruits. Light guava, green beans and touches of asparagus. Flavours echo this into the palate with crisp bright acidity and zesty mineral salts on the finish. The fruit is present and mouthwateringly fresh. A light, snappy body with a lingering fruit finish. Will accompany a variety of foods nicely, fish, herbed chicken and chickpea salad. 87 points. - tasted July 2018
