Reviews and Ratings

Lynn van der Linde - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Quintessential Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of lime zest and freshly cut herbs, a luscious moth feel, and a lingering zesty palate.
Tasted Feb 2017.
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This Sauvignon Blanc is strategically sourced partially from Awatere and Wairau - two signature areas, within Marlborough, supplying the outrageously tropical examples of Sauvignon Blanc the world has embraced from New Zealand.
Most of these style of Sauv Blancs are done anaerobically inside large temperature controlled vats for maximum preservation of freshness. Thornbury adds an extra long cool maceration to add structure and aromatics.
This is by-the-numbers Marlborough. Hugely tropical, with lots of guava, green apple, kiwi, and lots of citrus to the aromas. It is aided by a slightly herbal note (mint and fresh thyme) that keeps things interesting and balanced.
The flavours see a lot of replays of the tropical character. It is easy to appreciate and quaff. Pair it with a cobb salad.
SIMON SAYS...The colour is fantastic for a start, pale straw, flecks of green; it literally sparkles in the glass. It’s packed with classic citrus and passionfruit sorbet flavours alongside green bean and pungent herbal notes. Crisp, crunchy and delicious – it also has solid, satisfying length of flavour.
