Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 85/100 with the following review:

This wine falls short of its potential, especially considering the superior 2010 vintage. Green harvesting could have seen alcohol levels pumped up to at least 13.5 percent. At 12.8, and given this winery utilizes the appassimento method, it makes you question their grape sources. Cherries, red plums and herbs dominate the aromas and flavours of this wine. Medium finish, medium length, lots of classic Niagara green, unripe flavours. Drink now or forever hold your peace. For every 1 red wine I have from Niagara that I enjoy, there are 5 that utterly disappoint. 85 Points. (ottawawinejournal.com)
This unique wine takes Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and, following the ripasso method perfected in Italy’s Veneto region, uses dried grapes to add richness and depth. Rich and complex aromas of plum pudding, cassis, blueberry pie, chocolate cherry, cocoa, espresso beans and baking spices. Incredibly dry and elegant on the palate after all that decadent richness (in true ripasso fashion) on the nose. It also contains plenty of bright, fresh acidity. An intriguing, food-friendly wine ideal for hearty winter fare. Source: Vintages Wine Catalogue
