Full-bodied and smooth with dark fruit and a meaty, savoury mid-palate note. Nicely balanced. The winery concentrates the flavour of the cabernet sauvignon grapes by using the ripasso method traditionally used in Veneto, Italy: dried grapes add richness and depth to the wine. Mocha, dark chocolate and toasty oak on the finish.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: smoked meats, braised beef brisket, meaty pasta, mushroom risotto with Parmigiano-Reggiano.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

An interesting wine. The winemakers use the traditional ripasso method used in Italy. Thses dried Cab Sauv grapes create a rich dark ruby colour, Full body. Round tannins. Plush notes of prune, raisin , dark cherry, plum, smoke spice. Brooding and smooth. Pair with an equally dark stranger!!
Made using Veneto’s Ripasso method, this Cabernet Sauvignon displays aromas of fresh and dried cherry, plum, fig, sandalwood and spice that make for a fun and engaging nose. Structured and grounded with a leathery complexity interwoven with the dark fruit core. This has a long and drying finish. An easy candidate for 5+ years in the cellar, it will willingly collaborate on dinner tonight. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, April 2013
