Love the coffee-espresso flavours on this Pinotage. Delicious and smooth and robust with ripe cherry, leather, coffee and sweet oak spice flavours on the palate. Rich and fleshy with good acidity. Pour with ribs from the grill.

Pinotage food pairings: roast leg of lamb, grilled chicken, venison steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Trent Mayers rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Pinotage is a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault that thrives in South Africa and is not found much outside that country. This wine is well named since it does indeed have coffee, blackberry, cocoa, vanilla, and spice with a dry, well balanced, full bodied character and the structure to work with bold, flavourful foods. Drink now until 2023.
It’s unique, good value, and delicious matched with lamb, game, or mushroom risotto.
3½ stars
From Roos Family Vineyards, The Bean Coffee 2018 Pinotage is a coffee-espresso flavoured Pinotage. Look for juicy red fruits, ripe cherry, leather and sweet spice flavours on the palate, the espresso notes are derived from both the toasting and type of French oak barrels in which the wine is aged. Try it with smoked meats and cheeses. - Community Wine Reviews
