Love it! Classic and structured and intriguing. Black fruit and smoky mystery on the nose. The palate floods the senses with black plums, anise and dark spices. Considerable structure, complexity and concentration. This will do well in the cellar, but it'll be difficult to wait. The wine is a blend is 70% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Tasted in 2024, and at almost 15 years old, this has a lot of lovely acidity and vibrancy. Aromas of dried strawberry, cherry and cranberry with hints of cedar, smoke, and dried spices. Full bodied, with bright acidity, dried and fresh red berry notes on the palate, and a smoky, herbal finish. Enjoy with stronger cheeses, and charcuterie.
Mark Cochrane Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Another nice Tuscan blend of Sangiovese (70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%). There's a lot going on in this wine. When it's first opened an earthy aroma comes out but after sitting for a few minutes the fruit starts to come forward. 16 months in a variety of french oak gives it some depth and the tannins are pronounced but smooth. A full bodied wine with a long sour cherry finish
