Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas are rich dark fruit (plums and blueberries mostly). Very smooth and full bodied, fruit forward, and very soft tannin. Great wine with pork tenderloin.
Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

lovely rich nose, with straight forward unabashed fruit powering through. Great crafting of an entry level Merlot. More complex than many Merlots with makes me wonder if they blended in some CS too..... I really like this wine.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Blackberry, blueberry, smoke and spices. These rich aromas lead to rich flavours, mainly plum and cassis. This is a very full-bodied wine with lots of structure. The tannins are quite present and grippy.
Craig Kuziemsky rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Blueberry aromas and flavors dominate this wine. Some chocolate appears on the palate.
Melanie Aubert reviewed this wine as follows:

Deep ruby colour bordering on garnet. Aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, plum, yummy sweet spices and currant - a delicious dark fruit explosion for the nose!

Quite tannin-y for a merlot, high acidity and notes of black pepper, plus same flavours as aromas. Great for steak served rare!

Notes: Let this was breathe for a while. It could also still stand to be cellared for another 2-4 years.
