From the Stags Leap District in the Napa Valley this is the quintessential California Cab, Stags' Leap Estate's The Leap 2015. This is an elegant, powerful and complex full-bodied red with layers of ripe blackberry, cassis, cedar spice, grilled herbs, dark olives and chocolate flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm, structured. Cellar or enjoy now and for the next 10 years. Pair with a roast beast. Stags' Leap is one of California's oldest wineries and has been making wine since 1893 and even through prohibition.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: steak, hearty meat dishes, hard cheese, prime rib.

Reviews and Ratings

Stags' Leap Estate's The Leap 2015 is pricy but If this wine were from Bordeaux, it would be one of the five first growth. From the Stags Leap District in the Napa Valley this is the quintessential California Cab, elegant, powerful and with great finesse. Complex with layers of ripe blackberry, cassis, cedar spice, grilled herbs, dark olives and chocolate flavours on the palate. Tannins are firm, but manageable. This is a great gift wine! Drink now and for the next 10 years. Stags' Leap is one of California's oldest wineries. Winemaking began here in 1893, and through Prohibition and California's quality winemaking boom of the 1970s. - Community Wine Reviews
