Reviews and Ratings

With every purchase of Spinyback Sauvignon Blanc (Waimea Estates' second label), you will be assisting in the conservation efforts to protect the Tuatara ("Spinyback" in Mäori protected by law in 1895), New Zealand's largest reptile -- a half-metre in length and so named for its distinct crest of spines along its neck and back is now only found on the outer islands; the major threat to the Tuatara are the rats that prey on the eggs and their young. So, with every sip of this spicy, liquid lemon and gooseberry Sauvignon Blanc, not only will you be enjoying a fresh and zesty wine, you will be assisting in efforts to protect the species. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
