Juicy, meaty, savoury and mouth-watering. An awesome full-bodied Australian red wine with fleshy dark red and black fruit aromas. Not too heavy, just right. Meaty dishes please. Great price. Finishes with great complexity and concentration of flavour. Pair with spring lamb.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: hearty meat dishes, hard cheese, braised pork shanks with white beans, sizzling New York strip steaks, veal Asian chicken salad.

Reviews and Ratings

Lori Kilmartin WSET3 - WSET3 Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This is a terrific Cab Sauv for the price. Lots of jammy black fruit, smoke, leather and black pepper on the nose. A perfect triangle of balance; fruit, tannins and acidity on the palate. Still a bit young and will evolve in the bottle. I paired this with a medium-rare boneless prime rib for Sunday supper!
Victoria Clark Clark rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Deep red berry aromas, hint of cinnamon. Heavy body and rich flavour. Fantastic wine.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

There is a lot on offer here in this Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia's hot Barossa Valley and just $16! Full-bodied and smooth with intense aromas of dark cherry and plum, cassis, graphite, sweet baking spices, chocolate, a lift of mint. The acidity is balanced and the length is long on a sweet black fruit finish. Alcohol level is approaching 15% but it didn't taste like it to me. Highly recommend. This is a steak wine in my opinion. Other options - roasted red meats, braised lamb, saucy BBQ meats or burgers.

Winemaker Elena Brooks wears steel cap work boots to work every day but carries a pair of high heels in the trunk for emergencies. You go girl! Returning from a knees up mid vintage Elena managed to kick off one high heel and slip on one boot just as the cellar crew yelled out "Run Sister Run!". Thus the name of the winery was born. The 2012 vintage is hailed as one of the greatest ever for Australia and the Cabernet grapes from the Bethlehem Block vineyard exhibit that strength. - Community Wine Reviews
