Natalie's Score: 89/100

A dense, hugely tannic red wine that needs c=serious cellar time to come together and calm down. Black fruit, oak and tannin... All the elements are separate right now like an orchestra warming up. But I think in time it will come together. When you do open this bottle decant 2 hours and pair with a rare steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: strong cheese, barbecued steak, grilled lamb chops, Asian chicken salad.

Reviews and Ratings

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Silver Oak 2010 shows notes of sweet baking spice, mocha, herbs, leather, and pepper. The palate is rich and robust with black fruit, mocha, plum, and white pepper. Very nice effort, drinking well now and will evolve further over the next 10-20 years. Tasted June & November 2015, 93 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
The 2010 vintage was a strong one with long aging potential. Lots of oak on the nose and palate here with big grippy tannins. - Community Wine Reviews
