Reviews and Ratings

Alana L rated this wine as 93/100 with the following review:

Made from 80.9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12.6% Merlot, 3.6% Cabernet Franc, 2.4% Petit Verdo and 0.4% Malbec the Silver Oak 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic, stunning, robust, deep, layered and complex beauty!

A rich red color, it has notes of raspberry, strawberry, cigar box, black pepper, star anise and Earl Grey tea on the nose. The palate follows through with juicy fruit, soft integrated tannins, present acidity that washed in freshness and a long, bright finish. It’s lush and full-bodied with a strong ageing potential (if you’re patient enough!) but delicious now. Think of pairing this with a perfectly grilled, medium rare rib eye or Tomahawk steak with a simple butter sauce.

Tasted as part of the "California Wine Month Master Class: California Then and Now", a master class showcasing classic California wines, regions and range of styles and beautifully hosted by writer and speaker, Elaine Chukan Brown and California Wines.
From the Napa Valley, Silver Oak 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is full-bodied and lushly layered with ripe cassis, raspberry, blackberry, plushy plum and oak spice flavours on the palate balanced with mouth-watering acidity. Enjoy now and for the next 15 years. Silver Oak is one of Napa's most prestigious estates producing elegant, focussed and balanced Cabernet Sauvignons. Tannins are fine-grained. - Community Wine Reviews
