Love this plushy 100% Pinot Noir from cool-climate Sonoma Coast AVA with grapes sourced from select vineyards in the western portion of Carneros and the Petaluma Gap. Aged in large neutral oak casks and older French oak barrels. Medium-bodied with juicy acidity, bright red fruit, wild herbs, baking spice and salumi flavours on the palate. Pair with a charcuterie platter or lamb kebabs. Very versatile.

Pinot Noir food pairings: roast chicken, planked salmon, Margherita pizza.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This is a beautiful Pinot Noir from Sonoma made in more of an Old World style. Aromas of black cherry and raspberry, along with leather, black pepper, and some warm dried herbs and spicy hints. Medium bodied, smooth with some light, drying tannins and ripe fruit on the palate, along with a bit of a savoury note and a spicy finish. This wine would pair well with anything from grilled pork or salmon, or pan seared duck.
Schug 2017 Pinot Noir is a youthful, plushy medium-bodied 100% PN, savoury and earthy with blue florals, dark plum, blueberry and savoury herb flavours on the palate. Tannins are well-integrated. Wine grapes are sourced from the cool-microclimate of the Sonoma Coast, rom select vineyards in the western portion of Carneros and the Petaluma Gap. - Community Wine Reviews
