From the Barossa Valley, Schild Estate 2018 Shiraz is a medium-bodied, juicy and intense Shiraz with fresh red and dark cherry, blueberry, plum compote, spicy flavours with a smoky and smooth finish on the palate. For $22 this wine over delivers. Grapes are sourced from the family vineyards in Lyndoch and Rowland Flat and the wine was matured in a mix of French (20% new) and American oak barrels.

Shiraz food pairings: veal, roasted stuffed turkey, hamburgers, pizza, barbecued beef.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Intensely fragrant, with aromas of black cherry, blueberry, and jammy plum notes. Full bodied and smooth on the palate with some rich, dark berry notes, balanced with medium acidity, and some smoky, spicy hints on the finish. Enjoy with gourmet grilled burgers.
