A juicy, great value medium-plus-bodied Shiraz with ripe black plum, cherry compote and baking spice flavours on the palate with a lingering ripe plum and dark cherry finish. Enjoy with a grilled sirloin steak.

Shiraz food pairings: veal, roasted stuffed turkey, hamburgers, pizza, barbecued beef.

Reviews and Ratings

Jenny Ratcliffe-Wright CWM rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

More gold on this bottle than Aladdin's cave. And this Australian wine glitters accordingly. A great price for the solid intensity of Barossa style. The fruit texture is dark and bold with mulberry, dark cherry, cocoa and sweet cinnamon spice. It scored 95 points at the International Wine Challenge perhaps more because of its very generous style than for elegance or finesse. A very enjoyable, drinkable wine. 14 months in French and American oak for sweet fruited charm. Try with Vietnamese beef curry
Schild Estate 2016 is a great value Shiraz under $20 from the Barossa Valley, South Australia. Big and bold with juicy blackberry, plum, wild herbs and dark spice flavours on the palate with a smoky, dark cherry and savoury smooth finish. Tannins are firm and there is mouth-watering acidity on the palate. Pair it with a roast beast. - Community Wine Reviews
