Big fleshy blackberries and black plums roll off the nose of this fabulous Australian red wine, followed by savoury goodness and mouth-watering juiciness on the palate. Layers of pleasure with a long finish. Some dark spice and smoke on the finish. Oh double yum. There's some dark spice, hickory smoke-matchstick, black fruit and deeply seated longing and desire on the finish. Give this wine the filet mignon it deserves.

Shiraz food pairings: veal, roasted stuffed turkey, hamburgers, pizza, barbecued beef.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Big bold yummy Aussie Shiraz! This wine sets the bar for Barossa. Loads of ripe blackberry, dark plum, blueberry, anise and a touch of eucalyptus. Racey acidity, luscious mouthfeel, medium to full bodied and long satiny finish. Terrific mesquite BBQ wine!

I have had the oppurtunity to visit the winery and learn a bit about some of the oldest Shiraz vines in Australia. Their Aussie hospitality was phenomenal! If you are ever in Barossa area, do start in Lyndoch (south end of The Barossa Valley) and visit the Schild family winery.
This big Australian Shiraz has a dark, dense hue in the glass with equally dark fruit aromas. Pepper and dark spice on the finish. The wine was matured in both new and used French and American oak barrel hogsheads. - Community Wine Reviews
