So vibrant and fresh: wow! This zesty, lime-crisp Chilean white wine is made from the much loved Sauvignon Blanc grape. Medium-bodied with a long refreshing finish. Perfect for seafood, shellfish and roast chicken. Each of the wines in the 1865 line-up comes from its own single vineyard. These Sauvignon Blanc grapes are planted only 4 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean.

Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: pan-fried scallops, steamed shrimp with white wine sauce, crab cakes.

Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Really crisp and enjoyable. People are now appreciating the diverse climates that not only deliver superb conditions for red, but also cool climes for aromatic whites.
Leyda lends itself well to Sauvignon Blanc. Along with Beaujolais, this valley/region has some decomposing granite. The vines dig deep, get excellent drainage, and pick up fantastic aromatics.
Pale lemon-green colouration.
Served at a tasting, almost everybody described a spicey and unmistakable jalapeno note, right off the bat. There are also some crunchy green fruit: pear, apple, quince, guava, and melon. Citrus oil when it was at room temperature, as well.
The flavours are very zippy and mouthwattering. Lime, melon, green pepper, celery, lemon basil, and pie apple.
This would be odeal with seafood, such as ceviche made with red snapper and served with roasted corn kernels.
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

The scent of jalapeño rind dominates the aroma from the glass, the palate, however, boasts a minerality with lime, orange, and lemon zest, well presented acidity and a lingering finish.
This Sauvignon Blanc from the Leyda Valley is produced from a single vineyard. San Pedro 1865 (2015) is fresh, with green pepper and citrus lime zest notes. Very well-defined. Pair with grilled seafood. - Community Wine Reviews
