This blockbuster would benefit from a few more years in the cellar, but if you can't wait, then at least decant 1-2 hours. A voluptuous mouth-feel. This wine was aged 12 months in French oak. A richly hued wine that finishes with black plum, mocha and vanilla spice and a lick of black pepper. Pair with game dishes and duck comfit.

Malbec food pairings: lamb shanks in red wine and roasted garlic, grilled lamb lollipops, stuffed lamb tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Yummy blueberry aromas, followed by Damson plums, ripe blueberry, mocha and vanilla on a very flavourful palate. Satiny and sensuous in the mouth, with a lingering spicy finish.
Tasted Nov. 2016
Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This ruby coloured Malbec is earthy. It has aromas of dark berries, plum, and sweet autumn leaves. Cedar is also present as well as sweet spice. The tannins are structured and nicely balanced by fresh acidity. This wine would pair well with roasted lamb, or with barbecued steak or sausage. A very pleasant wine at an affordable price.
Tasted October 2017
Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This Malbec from Mendoza packs a punch - intense aromas and flavors of blueberry, blackberry, spice, vanilla and smoke. This full bodied red has a great acidity, firm tannins and a lengthy finish. Would benefit from 1-2 hours of decanting prior to service. Pair with hearty dishes - beef stew comes to mind. Tasted October 2017
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Definitely needs time to open up - even after a few hours, this wine packs a punch. Aromas of blueberry, mocha, vanilla and spice. Full bodied, lots of spice on the palate, long finish. Pair with a hearty steak or lamb.
Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Aromas of smoky plum, black cherry, and blueberry with lots of smoke. The taste is big round black and red fruit with medium acidity and great tannins. Great wine for beef stew or other hearty dishes.
Joe Pater rated this wine as 62/100
