Classic blackberry richness touched by a mint fresh breeze on this Australian red wine. Full-bodied and mouth-watering, juicy fun. The 2012 growing season provided excellent conditions and the Tyrrell family make the most of the Heathcote region's soil and climate in their wines. Polish tannins, long finish. Pair with prime rib.

Shiraz food pairings: lamb, beef and game dishes.

Reviews and Ratings

This Australian Shiraz is named the Rufus Stone in honour of the rock in the English forest where King William II died when an arrow bounced off an oak tree and pierced his chest while hunting. Apparently, the arrow was from the quiver of Sir Walter Tyrrell who was an ancestor of the Tyrrell winemaking family. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
