A savoury, mouth-watering red wine blend of Sangiovese (55%), Merlot (20%) and Syrah (25%) grapes. This Italian red wine offers great value, with lots of juicy acidity for tomato sauce and spicy sausages. Smooth and full-bodied.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

An old favourite that is always a pleasure. Dark garnet red colour, with lots of sour cherry and cedar from the nose. The juicy palate shows ripe fruit, spice and lovely forest floor elements. Smooth and harmonious, with soft tannins and great acidity; this is a wine made for food! Long crisp sour cherry finish. Excellent value at $16., currently discounted. This is a wine to buy over and over again.
Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby red in colour. The nose shows sweet fruit, cedar, savoury herbal notes, and pepper. Soft, luscious, and refreshing, a wonderful wine for entertaining and at a great price. Tasted February 2015. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Shelley Harris rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Full-bodied red with plum and vanilla overtones and tastes. Would complement a dinner of herb-roasted chicken - with aromas of oregano, rosemary and thyme.
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Aromas of ripe red fruit, spice, leather, vanilla, and a hint of caramel. Tart fruit, spice and vanilla come through on the palate. Try with spicy sausage dishes.

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Backing spices, new leather, red cherry, and a little violet. The spiciness comes through in the taste, along with the cherry. There's nice acidity and some fine tannins, giving it a bright, tart cherry finish.
