Lots of mocha and dark chocolate on the nose and palate from generous oak aging. Silky smooth and medium-bodied with fleshy black plums. Pair with grilled pork.

Reviews and Ratings

Douglas McMillan rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Strawberry, raspberry, cigar box, young leather and chocolate. The taste is a nice balance of dark cherry, raspberry, chocolate and spice. Long silky finish with some soft tannins.
Ian Anderson Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Russian River is a pretty classic Pinot region and these vines were planted more than 40 years ago. The winemaking is artisinal and they believe strongly in sustainability through solar power and carbon neutrality. But now for the wine! Intense aromas of plum, berry, rose and smoke. Light to medium bodied with prominent dryness and acidity. Fear not pinotphiles, it's well balanced. The 10 months spent in French oak provide smoke and spice flavours and vanilla.

Very food friendly. Try it with tuna, chicken, duck or salmon. Pinot matches so well with salmon.
Soft and silky, with intriguing floral and crushed pomegranate aromas, this medium bodied wine was aged for nine months in small, French oak barrels which added a hint of toasty vanilla and spice complexity. Ideal for current enjoyment, this Pinot Noir will age nicely over the next two to four years.
