In a blind tasting, you'd easily mistake this Australian Chardonnay for a top Burgundian Meursault Chardonnay. Mountadam High Eden Estate is Australia's coolest climate Chardonnay vineyard. Intensely flavoured with mouth-coating viscosity. Pair with buttered popcorn or lobster in melted butter.

Chardonnay food pairings: grilled fish, spinach and pepper jack stuffed chicken, beef bourguignon, toasted ravioli with Alfredo sauce, Asian dishes with black bean sauces.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A lovely classic Aussie Chardonnay that is sure to appeal to a large percentage of people. Medium-full in aromas of tree fruit and tropical fruit, medium full in flavours that replay nicely. The buttery characteristics and oak flavours build nicely.
From the Eden Valley in South Australia, Mountadam High Eden Estate (2015) Chardonnay can be mistaken for a Meursault Chardonnay from Burgundy. What a great mouthfeel on this wine. This Chardonnay did spend time on its lees giving it texture and elegance. The wine received bâtonnage in 60% new French oak barriques. Pair with lobster in melted butter. - Community Wine Reviews
