In a blind tasting, you'd easily mistake this Australian Chardonnay for a top Burgundian Meursault Chardonnay. Mountadam High Eden Estate is Australia's coolest climate Chardonnay vineyard. Intensely flavoured with mouth-coating viscosity. Pair with buttered popcorn or lobster in melted butter.

Chardonnay food pairings: grilled fish, spinach and pepper jack stuffed chicken, beef bourguignon, toasted ravioli with Alfredo sauce, Asian dishes with black bean sauces.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

From Eden valley, South Australia, a beautifully fragrant Chardonnay with peach and tropical fruit on nose, followed by a rich palate of peach, tropical guava, cashews and citrus lemon. There's exciting bright acidity and a long lemony finish.
A great gift for your favourite Chardonnay lover.

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Impressive flinty wet stone notes draw you in to this lovely Pouilly-Fuisse (Chardonnay) white Burgundy. Medium bodied, with crisp orchard fruit, this complex wine has great texture and fruit intensity. Tasted November 2015. 91 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
The vines for this Chardonnay from Mountadam were planted in 1971 and an elevation of 551 metres above sea level: both the age and height of those vines produce superbly complex grapes and wine. The wine spent 9 months on its lees, which were stirred gently, in 60% new French oak barriques, and it also underwent a full malolactic fermentation for added richness. The Chardonnay grapes are sourced from four select clones, and the grapes are hand-picked. The wine is then fermented in French oak barrels, of which 45% was new with lees stirring. - Community Wine Reviews
