Max Ferd., Richter Elisenberger 2022 Riesling Kabinett is produced from 50-year-old vines. Zesty, bright and pure of fruit, there are still some reductive aromas on this intense Mosel Prädikatswein mingling with ripe apple, dried orchard fruit, white florals and nutty notes, rich and silky on the palate and vibrant with a briny, stony, lemon zesty and mineral finish. I like the fact that it is 7.5% abv, so you can treat yourself to a few glasses of this delish wine. It will also continue to evolve in bottle. Enjoy it from 2028 through 2050.

Riesling food pairings: tempura vegetables, grilled sweet chilli shrimp, grilled mango pork tenderloin.

Reviews and Ratings

Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Rich, but also refreshing, this wine is voluptuous and has aromas of golden apple, lime, and a touch of red grapefruit, along with a backbone of stony minerality. Soft on the palate with subtle sweetness, moderate acidity, and rich, rounded fruit flavours backed up with more of that granite, stony mineral hints. Low in alcohol at 7.5%, this wine is flavourful but still refined. Enjoy with a tuna poke bowl with a touch of wasabi.
