One of the best values on the liquor store shelf. This lovely, floral, light-bodied German Riesling still packs lots of flavour. Serve chilled as an aperitif or companion to seafood.

Riesling food pairings: pork tenderloin, turkey breast, spicy pasta dishes, shrimp tempura.

Terrific Turkey Wine

Reviews and Ratings

Melanie Lloyd - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This slightly sweet German Riesling has aromas of topical fruit, mostly pineapple. There is also peach, honey, lemon, lime, and a certain minerality. Citrus notes and sweetened pineapple follow through on the palate.

Pair with Thai, Vietnamese or other Asian food.

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Dr. L. is another great example of a classic Mosel Riesling from a consistent producer year over year and crafted from grapes grown on steep slopes and slate soil. It is pale straw in color and off-dry with a palate of floral, mineral, peach, tart grapefruit, green apple, honeysuckle and a mouthwatering acidity. Delicious with a spicy Pad Thai garnished with a generous amount of freshly squeezed lime.......
Greg Hughes rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

A well known Riesling producer from the Mosel, Loosen provides quality and consistency. This wine is a pretty good standard for sweeter Rieslings.
It has a off-white hue to it. Only suggestions of a yellow hue.
Aromatically, very tropical. Peach, guava, nectarine, pineapple, and some assprted citrus. Lovely and fresh.
There's some citrusy acidity which really keeps it alive. It's also lower in alcohol, at around 8.4%. More tropicality and a lime juoce finish. Quite zesty amd refreshing.
This is ideal for turkey or roast chicken.
Most Rieslings age and this one will too. Try not to keep it before all that freshness disappears. Drink in the next three.
Just love this medium-sweet Mosel Qualitätswein Riesling from Loosen Bros. Dr. L 2016 is a fantastic value Mosel Riesling with supple apple, stonefruit and what a nice mouth filling weight on the palate. Only 8.5% abv, you can definitely have a glass or two on its own or pair with a mild, vegetarian curry. - Community Wine Reviews
