A remarkably terrific Bordeaux, especially at this price. Fabulous vintage. Aromas of blackcurrant, cassis and wild blackberry. Dark spice on the finish. Pair with a rare steak.

Food pairings: chicken herb-rubbed roast, breaded veal cutlets, lamb burgers, spicy sausage.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A meaty, smoky, yet still fruity French Bordeaux. The nose shows black plum, cassis, baking spice, cigar box, earthy underbrush, and a latex note. The palate is rich with high grippy tannins, high acidity, and a long plush finish . Enjoy pairing this wine with a savoury rack of lamb roast. Tasted August 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Okay, so this label contains the word "Margaux" but it also says "L'Expression." This is an okay Bordeaux for $33. I found it a little thin and dare I say a little green. There was plenty of good fruit on the nose such as black plum, cassis and cherry but I always came back to a lift of green pepper. On the secondary aromas I could detect toffee, graphite and eucalyptus. Palate had polishing tannins and balanced acidity. Full-bodied.Points for Bordeaux value. Decant.
Tasted: August 2016
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes from the Margaux region, This Bordeaux is typical of that terroir. Lush, soft, rich and lingering. - Community Wine Reviews
