Natalie's Score: 90/100

This savoury Italian wine from the heart of Tuscany's Chianti Classico region is a robust blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes from vines planted in schist and sandstone marl soils. The wine was aged six months in 50 hectolitre oak casks before being transferred to French oak barriques for another 6 months of maturing. A delicious Tuscan red wine with a firm tannic grip on the palate that will smooth out for 2-3 more years cellar aging. Decant 1-2 hours and pair with a rare steak.

Chianti Classico food pairings: prime rib steak done rare, lamb souvlaki, game burgers.

Reviews and Ratings

Lamole di Lamole (2014) is a full-bodied Chianti Classico from the Tuscany wine region and produced from mostly Sangiovese wine grapes with some Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wine spent six months in 5,000 litre casks before being transferred to French oak barriques for a further six months aging. There is a firm tannic grip on this wine that could easily cellar for another three years to show its best. Decant at least one hour prior to serving with a grilled rib steak done rare. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
