A robust Tuscan red wine made from the classic Sangiovese grape. Firm tannic grip on the palate will smooth out for 2-3 more years cellar aging. Decant 1-2 hours and pair with a rare steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This is so pure and fresh but needs time. The black cherry, earth, herbs and chalky minerals are expressive but have so much more potential as it ages. 92 points (www.ottawawinejournal.com)
Cora Beaulieu rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Another vibrant ruby red colored wine by Santa Margherita Wines. The nose is plump, fresh and filled with notes of cherry, plum, violets, spice, leather, with hints of stone, smoke and earth. The wine exhibits a rich and a supple palate and wonderfully integrated oak and acidity. The flavors are complex and vibrant of black cherry, cherry and violet. It has a lasting flavor of spice, plum and leather. Make this your next go-to red for grilled meat or leg of lamb wine. [Tasted Feb/2017]
Caitlin Coleman rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby colour. Red cherry pit, red plum and violet aromas pierce the nose. Lots of acidity and body to match with many different dishes. Excellent long finish.
Gwen Barton rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A classic Chiant! Med bodied, dry red wine. Prominent cherry notes with some herbs and sweet spice. Enjoy with thin crust pizza- perfect Italian pairing. Tasted Nov 2017
Andrea Shapiro rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This was an elegantly layered Chianti Classico. Medium bright ruby coloured with glistening red reflections. On the nose pronounced elements of red fruit. Strawberry, cranberry, bing cherry, chocolate, smoke, firm patent leather, fresh bay leaves and violet floral touches. Flavours are very pleasant and well rounded, echoing much of what was found in the bouquet with the addition of some raspberry and anise. Medium plus acidity with a medium body and finish with a touch of sweet cinnamon heat at the end. Tannins here are pronounced, but not overly firm and well integrated. Pair with freshly made pasta, sundried tomatoes and black olives or light tomato and herb dishes.

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A Chianti Classico from Santa Margherita comprised of Sangiovese (80%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) and Merlot (10%). There are aromas of baking spice, dark fruit, and smoke. The flavors are rich and complex with the same dark fruit, vanilla, campfire wood, and a hint of dried mint. The result is a well-rounded wine with some definite aging potential. This wine would be a great match to BBQ Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon.
Sylvain Segard rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

This was a great Chianti. Well worth the few extra dollars.
It is made in an international style from 80% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Merlot grapes.

Deep ruby colour. Fruit-forward aromas, especially black cherries and red plums, but also a definite herbal tone and minerality. The wine is very dry with well-rounded medium-high tannins. The ripe red fruits carry into the taste, which is also showing a hint of smoked wood. The high acidity will match very well with a juicy/fatty roast or a marbled beefsteak. Score 91/100. (S.Segard, reviewed Feb. 24, 2017)
Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A delicious international -style Chianti Classico, made from a blend of Sangiovese 80%, Cab Sauv 10% and Merlot 10%. Aromatic, medium-bodied, with more varied berry fruit aromas and flavours, along with notes of vanilla, mint, cedar and sweet spice and lingering elegant finish. Fuller, rounder expression resulting from the addition of the Cab and Merlot. Great now, but could age up to 5-6 years.
Enjoy with a variety of beef dishes, game or mature cheeses.

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Lamole di Lamole Blue Label Chianti Classico is a rich and delicious blend of 80% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Merlot. Fragrant and expressive, the smoky black cherry, black berry, plum, and baking spice excite the senses. Great weight and texture in this well balanced Chianti. Traditionally Chianti Classico with a touch of Super Tuscan style making it so attractive and well rounded. Enjoy 2017-2022. Tasted February 2017. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Mary Anne van Gaal rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A great blend of 80% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot.this wine is a rich ruby red. It is a great balance between fruit and spice with cherry, dark berries, sweet spice, and toasted wood greeting the senses. Its smoothness would compliment a nice barbecued steak topped with crumbled blue cheese.
Colin McKone - Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Ruby with aromas of cherry, plum, raspberry, baking spice and light smoke. It is medium bodied with well balanced tannins, acidity & alcohol. On the palate you get flavours of black cherry, spice, cedar and mint. This will pair with Italian based cheese and tomato dishes like a big plate of spaghetti. Tasted on November 19, 2017.
Simon Chen rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

a nice plum and cherry aromas, typical sangiovese nose. Medium structure with plum flavor. Good acidity and tannin
Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

Aromas show moderate cherry, allspice, dried savoury and thyme followed by a juicy mouthwatering mouthfeel (high acid) showing lasting savoury and tart cherry flavours. A simple light-bodied, mildly tannic, food friendly Chianti and at a moderate price point. Enjoy with saucy Italian meatballs. Tasted Nov 2017 by @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
Jennifer Havers - WSET Level 3 rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A very nice Chianti Classico, blended from 80% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot. Aromas of ripe cherry and notes of smoke and spice abound, with a slightly floral note peeking through and a hint of mint. Lots of lush berry on the palate, along with some earth and smoky notes. A bit of time really helped this open up, so it would likely benefit from some aging. Enjoy with with rustic or mushroom dishes. (Feb 2017).
