Natalie's Score: 90/100

This Californian Zinfandel weighs in at 15.4% alcohol, but it's surprising that it actually doesn't taste that hot and heavy. Smooth and full-bodied with aromas of purple and black plums, blueberry and toast. Pair with grilled meats and barbecue.

Zinfandel food pairings: herb crusted chicken, roasted lamb, roast breast of veal.

Reviews and Ratings

Rachelle O'Connor rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

A great Zinfandel from Sonoma County - lots of lip smacking dark fruit - blackberry, blueberry jam, and black cherry, tobacco and oak spice that lingers on the full bodied palate. Great structure, well balanced and not as much heat as I would have expected with the 15.4% abv. This is a wine that needs food to match. Enjoy with big juicy steaks on the grill. Tasted December 2017.
Lake Sonoma (2013) is a smooth Zinfandel with a blueberry, raspberry and red plum nose and palate. This Zinfandel from Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County was aged 22 months in oak (65% French, 20% American, 15% European, 15% new). Pair with a veal Porterhouse steak on the grill. - Community Wine Reviews
