Very mouth-watering with juicy ripe cherry aromas with a refreshing finish. Amyndeon is the only appellation producing rosé wines in Greece. This wine is made exclusively from the Xinomavro grape, is full of fresh strawberries balanced with fine acidity. Xinomavro is grown as far south as the foot of Mount Olympus – this version is fit for the gods. Pair with seared tuna.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

A refreshing dry Rosé from Greece, made from 100% Xinomavro. Bright coral with spicy cherry nose and ripe strawberries and cherries on the palate with herbal touches. Brisk acidity and spicy berry finish. Pour a glass and sit back...ahhh! Summer!
This Greek rose is worth a try, especially since where the vines grow, in the Amyndeon region is the only one permitted by AOC regulations to make rose style wines in the country. The 2014 vintage of the Kir-Yianni Akakies Rosé is made from Xinomavro grapes exclusively. Lots of acidity on the palate. This wine won a Silver Medal at the 2015 International Wine & Spirit Competition. - Community Wine Reviews
