Dark and spicy, this is racy and exciting Portuguese red wine. Black tarry fruit and toast and smoke. The 2013 vintage of this robust Portuguese red wine is a blend of indigenous grapes: Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional and Aragonês. The Alentejo pig featured on the front bottle wanders freely in the region's oat forests, feasting on a diet rich in acorns. It's native to Europe and the only species of grazing pig Europe. It has also played a pivotal role in preserving the woodlands of Europe. This wine was aged in oak barrels for 6 months. Pair with hearty meat dishes.

Food pairings: roasted veal, hearty soups, roasted duck breast, hamburger.

From Portugal's Alentejo viticultural region, Herdade Peso's Trinca Bolotas (2013) is a red blend of several wine grapes indigenous to Portugal: Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional and Aragonês. The 375 ml wine format is a perfect amount for one person to have with a roast of pork. - Community Wine Reviews
