Produced from 44% Alicante Bouschet, 40% Touriga Nacional and 16% Aragonez (Tempranillo), Trinca Bolotas 2016 is a dry, full-bodied, savoury and smoky Alentejo red wine blend rich with ripe dark fruit, wild herbs, dark spices and smoke on the palate. It's a dark one. The Alentejo pig featured on the bottle label freely roams the region's forests feasting on a diet rich in acorns. It's native to Europe and the only species of a grazing pig in Europe.

L.J. Palmer WSET 3 rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Deep ruby wine with intriguing aromas of sage, combined with fresh, ripe red fruit and red currant aromas. Red currants are also noticeable on the palate; this easy drinking wine is dry, medium bodied and flavourful.
Herdade Peso Trinca Bolotas 2016 is a full-bodied red blend of 44% Alicante Bouschet, 40% Touriga Nacional and 16% Aragonez (Tempranillo) with lush and generous flavours of dark ripe fruit, savoury herbs, toast and smoke. Holeey. The Aletejo pig featured on the front bottle wanders freely in the region's oak forests, feasting on a diet rich in acorns. It's native to Europe and the only species of grazing pig Europe.
