A medium-plus-bodied red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Franc wine grapes aged for 12 months in mostly American oak barrels. Look for ripe black currant, spiced plum, earthy herbs and meaty flavours on the palate. Great acidity for food. Drink or hold.

Red food pairings: lamburgers, gourmet burgers, bobotje.

Reviews and Ratings

Hedges Family 2016 is a robust red wine blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 5% Syrah, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec. It has it all including a beautiful nose of ripe black currant, cedar spice and enticing smoky vanilla aromas. Generous on the palate with black and red berry flavours, wild mushroom, tobacco leaf, cocoa, savoury herbs and spice on its medium-plus-bodied frame. Tannins are rounded. Enjoy now and for the next 10 years. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
