This gorgeous Washington red wine features mature tanned lather and smoky aromas on the nose. It's also savoury, full-bodied and has a firm grip. The 2013 vintage is a robust blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 4% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot, 2% Syrah and 5% Cabernet Franc. It was aged for 12 months in French, American and Hungarian oak barrels. Aromas of cedar brush, black currant and smoke. Finishes with vanilla spice and cedar brush. Decant 1-2 hours. Pair with lamb.

Food pairings: lamburgers, gourmet burgers, bobotje.

Reviews and Ratings

From Red Mountain, Columbia Valley, Washington, Hedges Family Estate 2013 is a savoury, medium-plus-bodied red wine blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot and 2% Syrah. Look for earthy notes, wild mushroom, tobacco leaf, cocoa and a mix of ripe red and black berry flavours on this savoury red. Pair with meaty dishes, mushroom and onion risottos or roasted root vegetable dishes. Enjoy now and for the next five years. - Community Wine Reviews
