Incredible price for this quality. Loaded with big black fruit and lots of mouth-watering acidity. Great wine for big meals, especially those involving Winemaker Ben Glaetzer also makes the Mitolo wines in McLaren Vale and the Heartland wines in the Langhorne Creek region. Stickleback is the Heartland winery’s entry-level red wine. It’s mostly made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz gapes with a dash of Dolcetto and Lagrein grapes.

Food pairings: steak.

Reviews and Ratings

Jacqueline Cochrane rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

A favourite.
This is the winery's "starter wine," but it's no junior in taste. This robust red wine is a blend of Cabernet and Shiraz, along with the Italian grapes Dolcetto and Lagrein. - Community Wine Reviews
