Produced by Ben Glaetzer, a spicy, smoky and smooth, full-bodied red wine blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz with a pinch of Lagrein. Look for ripe dark fruit, savoury herbs and dark spice flavours on the palate. Pair with a grilled steak done rare.

Food pairings: steak, cheeseburgers, roast boar, game burgers.

Reviews and Ratings

Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This is a fun, straightforward Cabernet Sauvignon blend. Some interesting aromas of eucalyptus and mint and lots of ripe fruit on the palate. Juicy with a satisfying finish. This easy-to-love blend will appeal to a wide group. Excellent value. Try it with BBQ prime rib. Tasted July 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Jay Denney rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Another gem value from the talented Ben Glaetzer. Full bodied, yet very approachable and needs very little decanting if any. Lush Barossa fruit, touch of herb and spice, clean finish. Not tannic at all, so a good match for some of your saltier BBQ fare like ribs or smoked brisket.
Stickleback 2015 is a great value red blend under $15 made from 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Lagrein. Full-bodied with charred black fruit flavours, smoky, spicy with lots of toasty oak spice - matured for one year in a combination of French and American oak barrels. Pair with sticky beef long ribs. - Community Wine Reviews
