Reviews and Ratings

Lesley Quinn - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 96/100 with the following review:

There are 3 things I love about this wine. #1 It's a 2007 what has been dubbed an outstanding vintage for Barolo. #2 It's soft and delicate like a rose and then boom it explodes in your mouth with a flurry of flavours, ranging from balsamic to dark plums. The tannins grab hold of your mouth and don't let go, as more layers of the wine express themselves through an everlasting finish. A transcendent experience with a Piedmont truffle risotto. But my #3 reason is the story of Rosa. She was a commoner that caught the eye of the original proprietor of Fontanafredda Vittorio Emanuele II King of Sardinia. Going against what was considered proper he gave the entire plot of land to Rosa making her a Countess. And they lived happily ever after. I just love a good romance story to tell over a glass of fine wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
