Reviews and Ratings

Alex & Priya - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Priya: The winemaker, Danilo, tells us this vineyard has some sandy soil which increases the elegance of the wine and calls it their 'most feminine' Barolo. If by that he means it's elegant, harmonious and well-balanced, then I'll agree and take that as a compliment on behalf of my gender! I smell some mild blue cheese and decaying roses. "A wine with very silky tannins" says Danilo.

Alex: This is the vineyard that was named after the King's lover, Bella Rosine, in the 1800's and as the name suggests, a feminine wine does indeed come from this vineyard but La Rosa is no dainty woman. She is a flashy and sultry siren. Ultra rich black cherry fruit, deep red rose and menthol, seductive, silky palate layered with cherry perfume, she is very exotic indeed.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
