Black fruit and great depths of coffee flavour richness. Full-bodied and delicious. Great price! This cool-climate Chilean Syrah over-delivers. Pair with grilled pork chops.

Syrah food pairings: rare roast beef, spice-braised lamb, chargrilled pork chop, burgers with blue cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This one wins points for price performance. The grapes for this full-bodied Chilean Syrah are sourced 320 miles north of Santiago. This is considerably cooler climate for Chile and ripening Syrah. 50% of this wine was aged in small French oak barrels for structure and elegance. The nose is ripe black fruit, coffee, meat, pepper and toasted oak. The palate is youthful with flavours of cherry, chocolate and vanilla. Some refreshing acidity and good length on a mocha finish. I enjoyed this very much. This is a buy a case wine.
Pair with Chilean style BBQ beef( salted only. No sauce)

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

A spicy red fruit nose and a palate showing red fruit, lots of spice, oak, meaty elements and oak. Fullbodied with a tangy finish.
This Chilean Syrah is situated in the Elqui Valley near the town of La Serena, 320 miles north of Santiago and currently, Chile's northernmost wine estate. The climate is semiarid with a dramatic contrast between day and night temperatures during the ripening season. The grapes are handpicked from two different vineyards Titon and Huanta, which have very different soils and microclimates. Cold maceration occurs before fermentation on the skins in stainless steel tanks. After malolactic fermentation, 50% of the wine is aged in small French oak barrels. for 6 months. - Community Wine Reviews
