Black fruit and great depths of coffee flavour richness. Full-bodied and delicious. Great price! This cool-climate Chilean Syrah over-delivers. Pair with grilled pork chops.

Syrah food pairings: rare roast beef, spice-braised lamb, chargrilled pork chop, burgers with blue cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Donna Hargrove rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

This full bodied red has a very deep burgundy colour. Pepper notes on the nose with slight floral undertones. The pepper continues on the tongue with additional spice and cherry flavours. A smooth long finish makes this the perfect wine for the coming barbeque season. Beef, lamb or spicy sausage would be the perfect pairing for this wine.

Tasted, March 22, 2016
This Chilean Syrah is situated in the Elqui Valley near the town of La Serena, 320 miles north of Santiago and currently, Chile's northernmost wine estate. The climate is semiarid with a dramatic contrast between day and night temperatures during the ripening season. The grapes are handpicked from two different vineyards Titon and Huanta, which have very different soils and microclimates. Cold maceration occurs before fermentation on the skins in stainless steel tanks. After malolactic fermentation, 50% of the wine is aged in small French oak barrels. for 6 months. - Community Wine Reviews
