Fabre Montmayou Reserva 2020 Malbec is great value under $20. Produced from 40-year-old vines in the Lujan de Cuyo and Las Compuertas regions, the wine is floral on the nose with violets and pink florals; dry, medium-plus-bodied and fresh with tangy red cherry, blueberry, toasty oak spice, chocolate and vanilla flavours balanced and harmonious. Good now, but will continue to evolve over the next three years. Pour with grilled meats.

Malbec food pairings: game, lamb, spaghetti and meat balls, veal cutlets, osso Bucco, hard cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

The Malbec grapes for Fabre Montmayou Reserva 2020 Malbec are sourced from 40-year-old vines in the Lujan de Cuyo and Las Compuertas wine regions. Floral on the nose with roses and violets, the wine is dry, medium-plus-bodied with dark berry, chocolate, vanilla, anise and toasty oak spice. Tannins are firm. Good now, better in a year so as it continues to evolve in bottle. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
