This is a deep ruby and broody Malbec made from 40-year-old vines near the Lujan de Cuyo and Las Compuertas regions. Approximately, 60% of the wine is matured in French oak barrels for 1 year. Fabre Montmayou Reserva 2016 is medium-plus-bodied with floral top notes, ripe red cherry and savoury spice flavours on the palate. Tannins are silky. Very approachable now.

Malbec food pairings: game, lamb, spaghetti and meat balls, veal cutlets, osso buco, hard cheese.

Reviews and Ratings

Fabre Montmayou Reserva 2016 is a dark, broody Malbec from Argentina. The Malbec wine grapes were sourced from 40-year-old vines near the Lujan de Cuyo and Las Compuertas regions. Approximately, 60% of the wine is matured in French oak barrels for 1 year. Pair with a rare steak. Deep ruby in the glass with floral top notes, ripe red cherry and savoury spice aromas. Just a lovely, easygoing Malbec with ripe dark fruit and cherry flavours on the palate finishing with chocolate and vanilla notes from oak ageing. Tannins are silky. Enjoy now with grilled meats. - Community Wine Reviews
