Very herbal, grassy and refreshing New Zealand white wine. A herbaceous finish with chives and lemongrass. Great with salads. Pale straw in hue, with green tints. Crisp, clean and fresh on the finish. A consistent producer of sauvignon blanc year after year. Pair with soft and fresh cheeses, Dover sole and pesto.

Sauvignon Blanc food pairings: cheese, shellfish, Caesar salad, corned beef and cabbage, turkey pot pie.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Pale lemon yellow, giving a grass and gooseberry on the nose with tropical guava and pineapple. The palate shows gooseberry, lemon, grass and tropical fruit. Dry, light to medium bodied, mouth-watering and delightful. Tropical fruit finish.
Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

I've heard it said more than a few times in so many months that "nobody does SB like Marlborough." This SB is pale lemon bordering colourless in the glass. It's light-bodied as you would expect with aromas and flavours of tropical fruit, herbs, floral, fresh cut green pepper. The mouthwatering acidity is balanced and the length is long and crisp. Great value at $19 from NZ. Perfect salad wine or enjoy on it's own.
Tasted: October 2015
This zippy New Zealand white wine sources Sauvignon Blanc grapes grown in the Marlborough's Awatere Valley, which is pronounced Aw-wah-tree. This area is the most geographically interesting sub-region of Marlborough as it branches in from the sea then heads upwards into high altitudes for great viticulture. - Community Wine Reviews
