Winemaker Susana Balbo does it again and delivers a remarkable tasty red wine at a very reasonable price point. Lots of blackberry, cassis and black currant here with toasty oak. Pair this Malbec with grilled pork chops.

Malbec food pairings: hamburger, roasted veal, beef, hearty soups, meatloaf.

Reviews and Ratings

Monique Sosa - Accredited Sommelier rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

Crios has a new art deco Gatsby-esque label, but, more importantly, it's still consistently yummy. The aromas initially gave off intense medicinal notes, but soon showed pronounced stewed blackberry, raspberry, leather, anise, forest floor, and tobacco notes. The palate is dry with cooked berries, leather, and spice notes. Tannins are young and persistence, acidity is well balanced (medium +) and the finish is long and delicious. This Malbec is a top pick for quality bargain wines on my list. Enjoy with smoky mesquite BBQ. Tasted July 2016. @sommsosa | bespoketastings.ca
This unfiltered and unfined Argentine red wine made from classic Malbec grapes by winemaker Susana Balbo, Dominio del Plata, is deeply hued and concentrated in the glass. Vanilla smoke and oak, with firm tannins. - Community Wine Reviews
