Tasty and full-bodied Argentine red wine with black fruit and toasty smoke aromas. Supple and smooth. Winemaker Susana Balbo is one of the most respected names in the Argentine wine industry. This particular Malbec has a great finish. Pair with lamb chops. Great price.

Malbec food pairings: cheese pizza, veal, beef, tagliatelle alla Bolognese (pasta), chicken herb-rubbed roast.

Reviews and Ratings

Dominio del Plata Susana Balbo Crios (2015) is a full-bodied 100% Malbec from the Mendoza wine region. The wine is great value under $20, supple and smooth with rich dark fruit flavours, spice, smoke on the palate. The grapes for the 2015 Críos Malbec are sourced exclusively in the Valle de Uco, from Los Chacayes, Vista Flores, Los Árboles and Gualtallary Sur. The wine was fermented in stainless steel and part of the wine matured in neutral French oak barrels for nine months. "Crios" on the label means offspring. The label features a series of three connected and overlapping hands, an image inspired by a Mayan artifact. The three hands represent Susana and her two children. - Community Wine Reviews
