Natalie's Score: 90/100

Dark chocolate, mocha and espresso on the nose with sweet black cherry and more chocolate on the palate of this Californian red wine blend. Full-bodied, supple and smooth, and brought to us by Charlie Wagner and Caymus. Try it with Mexican mole. Very concentrated and intense with a long finish. Pair with a rare steak.

Red food pairings: beef vindaloo, pork chops, barbecued ribs.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

From vintage to vintage wines change. Gone is the Conundrum Red of old and a more fruity, jammy style. Which grape varieties make up this wine remains a well guarded secret I think the percentage of Zin gone up - it sure seems so as the juicy fruit is stepped up and a touch of residual sugar remains. My guess is that Syrah also has a large presence with berries filling out the mid-palate.
How do you make up your mind about a wine named Conundrum? Lots of blueberry pie with mocha aromas. Full-bodied with cocoa on the finish. - Community Wine Reviews
