Savoury, dark and brooding with luscious layers of flavour. Classic Sonoma cool climate character. This robust Californian cabernet has that classic signature of black fruit, smoke and toasty oak all wrapped into a supremely satisfying package.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: prime rib, grilled pork, chicken.

Reviews and Ratings

Wineboy rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

No surprises here. Classic Cali CS with a touch more restraint than some. A fruit over oak style, offering great length. There's no French connection with this wine but their house style consistently shows a bit more restraint year after year than their neighbours.
The winery, in Geyserville, first made wine in 1974. Sonoma Cabernet always has a terrific blend of fruit richness and spicy depth. Since the release of their first wines in 1974, Clos du Bois has been a benchmark of Alexander Valley Cabernet with rich, ripe and intense blackberry, cherry nose. Enjoy with grilled Hanger steak. - Community Wine Reviews
